Camp Eagle’s Purpose & Mission Statement

“Founded on Biblical principles, Camp Eagle is an outdoor ministry where the witness of God’s creation is displayed and the renewing, transforming, powerful Gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed.”

Clarifying and defining the meaning of Camp Eagle’s Purpose & Mission Statement

Each word of our mission statement has been carefully thought about, prayed over, discussed, and compared to the Word of God so that it may, as accurately as possible, convey the purpose and goal of our camp ministry. Through it, we establish the guidelines and boundaries for which we seek to honor and glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In the post-modern world in which we live, word meanings are being changed to match the humanistic and political goals of people who do not know our Lord. Therefore, we find it vitally important clarify what we mean in our Mission Statement.

“Founded on Biblical principles…” – From the very beginning of our camp ministry, it was determined that the Word of God would be the foundation for which we would operate and minister. The Word of God is the basis for which drives and establishes our principles, guidelines, purpose, and power. The Word of God is the Truth for ALL man and by it, we operate under its power, wisdom, and life-changing applications. In other words, we build upon its firm foundation for life and living. Without it, we would simply be just another organization based upon humanistic reasoning and application.

“…Camp Eagle is an outdoor ministry…” – A major goal of our camp ministry is for people of all ages to get “outside” and enjoy God’s creation. The world around us is increasingly distracting us from being active in and enjoying God’s great outdoors. Camp Eagle strives to give people an “out-of-door” experience that awakens the soul to his/her Creator. There is never been a more needed time to have outdoor ministries like Camp Eagle.

“…where the witness of God’s creation is displayed…” – Our ministry strives to keep our campus, facilities, and programming activities a complementary aspect of the Lord’s creation. We want our guests to take note that creation witnesses that there is a Creator and we never want to be a distraction from the witness of “His invisible attributes” (Romans 1:20). Creation is a strong witness of the One, True, and Living God, Jesus Christ.

“…and the renewing, transforming, powerful Gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed.” – The most important thing we do is to glorify our Lord by proclaiming the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. By it, man finds life and a relationship with God and begins the purpose for which man was created; to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever. There is NO other way to God the Father except through the Lord Jesus Christ. Many words define and describe the Gospel, these are a few:

  • “Renewing” – Those who receive Jesus as Lord and Savior are restored to a right relationship with God. He/she is no longer separated from the One, Holy God because of sin, but is “regenerated” (made spiritually new) through Jesus. A Christian is “renewed, restored” to a right relationship with God.

  •  “Transforming” – The Gospel changes us in condition, nature, and character. It is in the constant process of making and conforming us to be like Him.

  •  “Powerful” – The Gospel is the “power of God unto salvation” to ALL men. It is the ONLY means by which man is saved, changed, and experiences victory. The Gospel is the hope for all mankind and is the ONLY thing that can change a person, community, nation, and the world.
